There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone was the complete opposite of me. I danced while he stood still. He was quiet, and I was always running my mouth. He struggled to find a smile while I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. I threw us away with one hasty decision—a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Review:

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story. It was my first Brittainy C Cherry book.

Finding your soul in another person is beauty, losing that person is devastating.
Alyssa and Logan were drawn together from the moment their eyes met. Their connection was instant. For two people from completely different worlds they had demons in common.

Being each other high and lo was everything until it wasn’t.

Logan’s struggles are constant. Fighting his whole life only to come home and have to fight the same things and more.
Alyssa struggles through life feeling rejected by her father and not good enough for her mother. Even as an adult she still struggles.

When “High” and “Lo’s” paths meet again they battle to ignore their passion. They collide in moments of weakness and need. They consume each others minds. They support each other through heart break for family.

Kellan and Erika’s story within Logan and Alyssa’s story adds to the dynamic and dimension of the story. Helping build Logan and Alyssa’s character strengths. Entwining them all together for support and love makes the heart of the story so much deeper.
Lessons learned in life and love.

It’s a well written and cute story

4 Stars!
