An Olympic sized romance!
In Deep grabbed my attention right from the start, and kept it well after I finished. It was a sexy and fun read about Chase, the all-American swimmer who is adored and idolised by many, and Emma a blogger/physical therapist who thinks that while working on him at the Rio Olympics she may also be able to get inside scoop.
Right from their initial meeting there was an undeniable chemistry between the two, and even though they knew they shouldn’t and team protocol frowned upon a relationship, Emma and Chase soon discovered that you can’t help who you’re attracted to, and that you can only fight it for so long.
Chase: Nothing had happened between us. Yet. But that constant drumbeat in my head of “touch her, touch her” was getting louder and louder.
Emma was a woman after my own heart; I’m always a fan of characters that enjoy reading as much as I do! She kept a level head in most situations, and while at times she was a little bit of a doormat by the end of the book she had learnt to stand up for herself, and while she had to make some tough decisions, I applauded her for having the strength to do what needed to be done!
Chase was a well-rounded character who liked to keep to himself, I think sometimes it’s easy to forget (the same applies in real life) that just because someone happens to be good at something doesn’t mean that they want to live their life in the spotlight. Chase was the prime example of this, he just wanted to swim, he certainly doesn’t want the media attention that goes with it. Add in the fact that he seemed to be hiding something and everyone wants a piece of him, including Emma.
So much happened in this book, yet at the same time it never felt rushed, and like all good books I wanted it to go on forever and never end. Even now I still want more Emma and Chase.
In Deep is releasing right in time for the Rio Olympics and I recommend it to anyone who loves sports romances, or just romances in general.
