Hello there and I wish you all a Happy New Year! Today, I wanted to post some of my favorite reads for 2016. They are in no particular order and they may not have been written in 2016. I may just have happened to read them in 2016. These are really my favorites of the year. I hope you enjoy them.
This book was so amazing. Hot Alpha Male and stubborn human female. This book was intense and truly enjoyable. The synopsis:
I got tricked and now I’m on another planet. We’re here to be matched with alien males who haven’t had access to women in years. They are aching for wives, desperate to have children. I got tricked and then the government wouldn’t let me opt-out. They said I needed to sleep with one of the aliens within 72 hours in order to get life-saving antibodies otherwise I’ll die.
So, I slept with a hot 7-foot tall alien after he and 3 other hotties battled for the right to marry me. I told him I’d sleep with him, no-strings, to break his dry spell and save me from death. But now the alien considers me to be his WIFE. He’s hot, alpha, bossy but sweet, and I might be in love with him. Even if I don’t want to admit it.
This is a really fun paranormal read. It has the voodoo feel to it. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait for the rest of the books. The synopsis:
Ellis Calhoun and Vivian Parker share a lavish New York lifestyle, but their relationship is anything but conventional. Driven by his need for control, Ellis, a mysterious and sexy corporate raider, feeds off Vivian’s desire to submit, before she herself was even aware of that desire.
But soon, unexplained urges that aren’t her own begin to drive a wedge between them, challenging Vivian’s identity as Ellis’s subservient lover. Even stranger, she has no recollection of her moments of defiance. Vivian loses time and memories for no reason she can understand. But maybe there’s an explanation after all…Delphine.
Girl:Divided is Book One in The Binding Series, a story of what happens when the real world and the supernatural world collide. Enter into this realm of mystery, intrigue and kinky sex in this paranormal romance series.
What did this book not have? It had everything you could love in a book…angst, indecision, man I loved this one. The synopsis:
I’ve loved him as long as I can remember. The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop. Killian Shepard. Shep. We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life. He’d be back. He was always meant to be mine. He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me. So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do. I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael. Now we’re one big happy f**king family.
Such a great vampire romance! A.M. Hudson created such a beautiful and vivid world in this one. An incredible story. The synopsis:
Lost in the struggle to find happiness again after losing her family and moving to a new country, Ara befriends the oddly alluring David Knight. Torn between the love of a childhood friend and the deep connection that’s forming with David, she will be asked to make a decision about their relationship before she’s even ready to admit her feelings. But a cruel stranger enters her life on the night of the town masquerade and forces her hand, taking away what little innocence Ara had left.
I loved this book. Great characters and a great love story. The synopsis:
A sexy new contemporary standalone romance by New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Katy Evans.
You’ve seen the headlines: Womanizing billionaire player! Watch out! Stay away!
We were just two strangers. Facing a forbidden attraction, a chemical connection. Neither of us expected or wanted it to amount to more.
But I had never been drawn to a guy the way I was drawn to this one: my brother’s best friend, and CEO of the company where I interned.
Even knowing I should stay away, I proved to be too human, after all.
The chemistry was amazing.
The laughs were incredible.
I opened up to him in more ways than I’d opened up to anyone before.
But sex was as far as I’d go.
Just sex because he was too irresistible.
Just sex because I wouldn’t be falling for him.
Just sex because I’d leave in three months, and I’d like for my brother not to kill me, and for nobody to find out he was my wicked little secret.
He wasn’t the One.
He was just a womanizer.
But for a time, he would be mine.
I loved this one too. The main character has to prove he’s not the playboy he’s been known to be. The synopsis:
At a boxing gym in Chicago, Mary Monahan accidentally knocks out the most handsome man she’s ever met. After she wakes him up with a few slaps and some smelling salts, the very first thing he does is ask her out for ribs and beer. His name is Jimmy. He looks like a Gillette model. And he’s just too hunky to resist.
Jimmy “The Falcon” Falconi is mystified that Mary has absolutely no idea who he is. Mystified and refreshed. He is, after all, not your everyday NFL quarterback. He shops at Costco, has a soft spot for Pinterest, and is in the midst of an epic losing streak.
Jimmy falls for Mary fast and hard, the way he does everything—balls out and like it’s fourth and long. And he realizes he’s finally met his match. That stamina he’s so proud of? Doesn’t stand a chance against her Kegels.
But what they don’t know is she’s also his new physical therapist, recently hired by the Bears to work on his rotator cuff…and groin injury. If she can’t help him, he’ll be traded faster than they can say “offensive penetration.”
In spite of the thousands of internet memes featuring Jimmy’s face with captions like: “HEY GIRL, WANT TO TOUCH MY BALLS?” Mary finds herself falling for him and his unrelenting desire to make her his.
Until a toddler shows up at Jimmy’s door.
And throws their lives into total chaos.
