everything I despise.
every part of me.
Broken Dreams by Callie Anderson is an aptly titled book. It’s also sort of a hard read not because it’s bad. It’s because it is a tale of heartbreak, loss, and misunderstanding. I loved every minute of it. Leslie and Logan have been in love since she was ten years old. After a tragic night, everything is shattered. This book is tells the story flashing from past to present. This really helps to build suspense. I had so many questions as I read the book, and I wanted to know what happened. I like it when a book doesn’t it make it so obvious up front, and it keeps you on your toes. Callie Anderson writes the story so well. It was just so “real world.”
I loved Leslie. She is so flawed, which is understandable. You really get inside her head, and get to understand the decisions she’s made in her life. Ethan isn’t as clear of a character, as the story is mostly told from Leslie’s perspective. However, I loved the struggles. I loved their relationship. This book really had it all: Flawed characters, broken dreams, really good characters, and a beautiful love story. This is a HEA and I loved every struggle and conflict that was carried out in this story.
