BLURB
Lila Callan had an unconventional upbringing—unavoidable when your mother owns a brothel. But while she’d inherited some of her parents’ ‘wacky and offbeat’, she was also strong, independent and incredibly intelligent. The fact she was tall, beautiful and blond was a bonus she never really cared to exploit. She wasn’t uptight; it’s just that long term was more her thing, with zero interest in one-night stands.Until she met Ryan York and then she isn’t so sure.
Blindingly good looking.
Insane body.
Infectious sense of humor.
And charm for days.
Ryan York was movie star material.
Except that he wasn’t.
He’d turned his back on the idea of hitting the big time, more content with being Eric Larsson’s—his best friend who was a movie star—right-hand man. Despite his laid-back persona, he was a guy who could get stuff done. And women lined up to be done by Ryan. He did not have a problem with that. Not. At. All.
Except his magical panty dropping powers didn’t seem to extend to the lovely Lila. And she wasn’t sure if she was going to teach the #1 player a new game, or find one herself.
One way or another, they were both getting naked.

#1 Player is book 2 in the #1 Series. This story features Lila and Ryan. Lila is a journalist who wants to publish “real” news stories instead of being stuck writing articles for the Arts section of the New York Times. Ryan works with her best friend’s boyfriend in a variety of capacities and has the reputation of being a playboy.
The characters in this story were really well written. I loved Lila’s background. I loved how T. Gephart writes her characters. Even the supporting cast of characters were well done and well rounded. I really wanted to LOVE this book because the writing is just so well done. I don’t know if it was Lila’s misconceptions about Ryan that got me. Obviously, Ryan was into her. I don’t know if it would have been best starting with the first book, although you don’t have to I just couldn’t quite connect 100 percent with the book.
I really do feel that T. Gephart is a very talented writer. I love her style and the way she crafts her characters. Even though, I couldn’t connect fully to this book, it was still well written and enjoyable. Those that have read the first book will probably enjoy this book immensely.
